Fox was batting .214 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 39 games with Oakland this season. He was on the A's Opening Day roster.

Oakland acquired Fox from the Chicago Cubs last December of 2009 with Aaron Miles and cash for Jeff Gray, Ronny Morla and Matt Spencer.
